Cheap Flights from London to Bermuda (2026): Direct BA vs Connecting via the US
This guide is general information, not legal, immigration or tax advice. Some links may be affiliate links. See our disclosure.
There are two ways to get from London to Bermuda: the one non-stop flight, or across the Atlantic to the US and a short hop south. Here’s how they compare.

Option 1: BA direct from Heathrow
- Flight: British Airways BA159 from Heathrow to L.F. Wade International (BDA), returning as BA158.
- Schedule: daily from 29 March to 24 October 2026, departing 14:20 from Terminal 3 and arriving 17:55 local time. From late October the pattern drops to fewer days a week (FlightMapper, FlightsFrom).
- Flight time: about 7h35m to 7h55m on a Boeing 777.
- Pros: no connection, no ESTA, and your bags go straight through.
- Cons: it’s the only non-stop flight, so there’s no competition on the route. Seats in peak periods can be expensive.
Option 2: connect via the US or Canada
L.F. Wade’s October 2026 schedule lists flights from Miami, Baltimore/Washington, Newark, Westchester, New York LaGuardia/JFK, Boston, Atlanta, Orlando, Montreal, Toronto and Halifax. Airlines include American, Delta and BermudAir (bermudaairport.com). Bermuda’s tourism board says the island is about 90 minutes from New York and two to three hours from Boston, Atlanta, Miami and other cities (gotobermuda.com).
- Pros: many more flights and airlines, so fares can sometimes undercut BA. You can also add a stopover.
- Cons: you need an ESTA even just to transit the US, and you clear US immigration at your first stop. You’ll need a longer connection, and there’s a higher risk of missing a connection.
- Tip: book it all on one ticket if you can. If you book separate tickets and miss the second flight, the airline doesn’t have to rebook you.
Finding the cheaper option
- Search your dates on Aviasales (affiliate link) with “direct only” on, then again with connections allowed.
- Try moving your dates by a few days either way. FlightsFrom lists November as the cheapest month on the Heathrow route.
- Add up the full cost: checked bags, the ESTA fee, and a hotel if the connection runs overnight.
- If you’re moving, check baggage allowances carefully. For larger loads, see shipping to Bermuda.
- Buy travel insurance when you book, so cancellation cover starts straight away.
